Howard Davenport, Sr.
June 13, 1938 - March 14, 2022
Founder and Pastor of Lansing Christian Center Church (LCCC). His disciplined approach to God's Word strengthened his ability to expound on various biblical topics. He stressed the importance of each person knowing God intimately by developing a prayer life based on the Word of God. He authored several publications: Making the Legal Vital, Daily Confessions, and I Am Born Again...What Happened?
LeOra PolLe Davenport
From the state of Arkansas. She is the proud mother of four children, three grandsons, three granddaughters, and two adopted daughters. She was married to the senior pastor of Lansing Christian Center Church, Howard Davenport. Sr., and was instrumental in its establishment. She has diligently served in the administrative capacity of the ministry for several years. Her faith in God is deeply anchored and the Lord began to express a Psalmist anointing with new worship songs and inspired writings to reveal God's truth in a new dimension.
At Pastor Howard's transition to Heaven in March 2022, PolLe asked Rev. Andrew Ellison to assume the role of interim Pastor of the congregation. With the Trustee Board confirming the agreement, Rev. Andrew is currently the Assistant Pastor and Interim Senior Pastor of LCCC. PolLe continues as Administrative Officer and Pastor Emeritus/Advisor to Rev. Ellison.
Andrew Ellison
Andrew was born in Lansing, Michigan, and attended Lansing Schools and Lansing Community College. He retired from the Michigan Department of Correction in 2015 after 31 years. Andrew received Jesus at age 6 and accepted the Call to preach at age 17. Andrew came under the ministry of Pastor Howard and PolLe Davenport at LCCC in 1982 first serving as pianist, and assistant choir director. Years later served as a lead musician, Music Department Director, preacher, teacher, New Members and Workers class instructor, advisor to Men of Integrity and Purpose, Home care Group Leader, and generally assisting founding Pastor Davenport with the spiritual affairs and guidance of the church as requested until Pastor Davenport's transition on March 14, 2022.
In April 2022, Andrew was asked to accept the appointment to Assistant Pastor of LCCC, and be Interim Sr. Pastor of the congregation by Lady Davenport. Upon the confirmation of the congregation, Andrew presently serves in these positions, with his wife Tori of 26 years at his side helping. Andrew and Tori are committed to the Lord to teach, preach, sing, praise, and model the gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ to all men. To worship God in Spirit and in Truth, training, building, and strengthening the Body of Christ in Love in every area of life spiritually and practically.
Andrew and Tori reside in Alma, Michigan, where they enjoy country surroundings, animals, long-distance road cycling, home DIY projects, cooking, and traveling. They are the joyful parents of 8 grown children and 9 grandchildren.
