Bits of Wisdom

When the Holy Spirit instructs us to do something in the midst of our business we are being tested to determine what is most important to us; what God wants or what we want.

With a call one is positioned so they can learn the will and way of the one who called them. When they are sent out it is for the purpose of leading those they are sent to back to the one who sent them.

Exodus 3:10-12

10 Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?"

12 So He said, "I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain." NKJV

Moses was to bring the children back to the same mountain and the God that had called him.

God is king.

God the king of the universe created Adam and gave him kingly authority over the earth. Adam being the son of a king was made king by the act of creation.

There are two desires at the heart of God. One, to get man back in his rightful position as a son king, and two; get the earth that was given to man back under the ruler ship of man. This is why Jesus the son king came to the earth.

The work of God in restoring man and the earth to their rightful place is a long process, because the principle of righteousness must be in place for God to work; because he is righteous, and for man to work with God he must be righteous.

Psalm 145:3

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;

And His greatness is unsearchable. NKJV

Because of the magnitude of the greatness of God the best thing we can do is to trust his word, and the worst we can do is not the trust him.

James 4:8

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. NKJV

Taking into consideration the greatness of God, is it possible to draw near him and not know it? When we drew near to God the atmosphere around us changes because of the charge his manifested presence brings. This is what happens during our times of worship and praise. His presence can and will make a lasting influence upon our conscience if we allow it to by maintain an attitude of worship and praise.

Every TV program carries its own unique atmosphere, and by watching it you are drawn into that atmosphere.

Do we always answer when the Lord calls us? The answer is NO, because we don’t always recognize his voice when he calls, and sometimes we are too busy to answer. When we make it a priority to practice do what is said in this scripture;

Proverbs 8:34

34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. NKJV

If we will do this the possibility of answering when he calls will be very high. If we will be servants from his perspective we will do this because we want to please

him.

John 1:1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. NKJV

The word of God comes forth from his mouth taking on form and substance having all of the attributes and characteristics of himself. Therefore the word is God.

Romans 15:4

4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. NKJV

These things were written that we might seek to have a relationship with God as those men and women of the scripture had and allow God to speak to us as he did to them. Abraham and others were acting on what God said to them, and we should act on the word he speaks to us as they did.

We must learn to work with the Holy Spirit. When he speaks or does something we must stop whatever we are doing and work with Him because he is the spirit of the king.

John 14:26

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

NKJV

Jesus said that the Father would send the Holy Spirit in his name. When one dose something in the name of another, he represents the one in whose name they have come. They have no personal interest of their own, they have come to do what will of the one in whose name they represent.

One of the major purposes of prayer is to minister or worship God, and in the process he will give us instructions of what he want us to do.

This is how Paul and Barnabas received their apostolic call found in the following scripture.

Acts 13:1-5

13 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

Preaching in Cyprus

4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. NKJV

The lifestyle of mankind effects everything that relates to him.

Deuteronomy 28:12-14

12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend too many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. NKJV

Deuteronomy 28:22-24

23 And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. 24 The Lord will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed. NKJV

This planet was made by God and given to man for him to populate and rule with God’s righteous law. The process of that plan is being worked out according to the foreknowledge and will of God.

Time: 6:22am

What we eat gets into our blood stream. What we say gets into our heart, spirit. If what we eat is bad it makes us sick; that is why a blood test is required to determine the cause of the illness. If what we say is bad it makes us spiritually sick.

Matthew 15:18

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. KJV

A defiled person is unclean before God and cannot approach him until what has defiled him has been removed.

As food is the key to our physical health, so are the words that we speak the key to our spiritual health!

Proverbs 4:22

22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. NKJV

God is progressively restoring mankind to the place of his created purpose. He works with many in different generations equipping them for his eternal kingdom. Each generation is given an opportunity to be a part of this kingdom people God is raising up. The disciple asked Jesus if the kingdom would be restored to Israel after his resurrection, and his answer was this.

Acts 1:7

7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. NKJV

From this statement we can see that in the days ahead Israel will be freed and restored to kingdom status on this earth with Jesus ruling from David’s throne as God promised David.

God chose us in Adam and in that choice everything concerning us was in that choice. Ever talent of gift was place in us in Adam. When Adam went away from God all that was in him went away from God, even our talent and gift. Going away does not mean that we lost them, they only lost the anointing of God presence being upon them. Whatever gift man possess need the touch of God’s anointing upon them.

David and others of the Old Testament affected flesh and blood in their work regarding the things of God. We affect the spiritual arena where Satan is lord.

We have a greater responsibility today than any other people of God that has ever lived, because there is more knowledge of the things of God than any other time of man’s existence on the earth. With knowledge comes responsibility; that is we must apply that knowledge given to us.

Luke 12:48

48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

NKJV

Man is trying to build a utopia by changing principles and values that brought him to the place he is today. Since man have no answer for the moral decay that is taking place in society he changes laws God set to protect him from destruction.

Here is the world man is attempting to establish but can only be done by Jesus the prince of peace.

Isaiah 11:1-9

11 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. 2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist.

6 "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. NKJV

God wants to keep us in a place of faith and rest at all times. When he told the children of Israel to gather manner each day and not to save any for the next day. It was to keep them in a place of faith trusting him for each days supply. When they disobeyed by saving some for the next day, it was evident that they did not trust him to provide for them the next day.

Exodus 16:18-21

18 So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need. 19 And Moses said, "Let no one leave any of it till morning." 20 Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. NKJV

God cannot deny anything about himself in relation to the sinful condition of mankind. God is love, but his love will not cause him to let unrepented sin go unpunished.

2 Timothy 2:11-13

11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.

12 If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. NKJV

What does it mean to take up ones cross?

Matthew 16:24-26

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. NKJV

Taking up the cross is laying down what please us and taking up what pleases the lord. Laying down what pleases a person is a difficult matter. It is like dying. You become willing to live for another doing what pleases him. To what extreme do you take this? When it comes to living for another, you are there for them to do whatever they want of you.

The condition of our soul determines the purity of the word that flows through it. For what comes from our spirit has to travel through our soul. In doing so what is in our soul gets mixed with the word that is coming through it.

There is only one way to purify the soul and that is obedience to the word of God, which is living in obedience to it.

John 15:3

3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. NKJV

1 Peter 1:22-23

22 Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently:

23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever. WEB

Are we living like the enemy is defeated? Can we live like he is defeated? The answer to the last question is yes we can and should be. However the only way to do that is to live in the light of the word of God which is truth. Living in the light of the word of God will give us the victory over Satan because he is the father of lies.

Ephesians 4:25-27

26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. NKJV

If we refuse to give place the Satan and sin they cannot take it. If he can then the greater one is not in us but in the world.

The word of God is relevant to every generation because of the sin nature of mankind. It brings the good news of deliverance to every generation that is born with that fallen curse.

1 Peter 1:24-25

4 because "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.

The grass withers, and its flower falls away, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever." NKJV

Unbelief is a choice made by a person not to believe the word of God which leads to disobedience. On the other hand believing is a choice made by a person which leads to obedience.

Hebrews 3:12-15

12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said:

"Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

NKJV

Many of the people that Paul and others preached the word of God to did some form of worship. However they had object of worship, something they could see. When man attempt to worship God without knowing him or having a revelation of God will fall short of the purpose of worship. All of his acts of worship are ideas of his own making. When men worship God according to knowledge, the revealed way there is always a response on God’s part.

Acts 17:22-23

22 Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; 23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. NKJV

Acts 17:23-31

Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: 24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' 29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." NKJV

Everything that is done in this world is for the purpose of making one feel good. Even when exercising the purpose is to make a person feel good at the end of the exercise. How many are will to do what brings them into a place of right standing with the one that gave them the sense of feeling.

Qualified by faith:

Colossians 1:12

12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. NKJV

NT: 2427), "to render fit, meet, to make sufficient," is translated "hath made... meet" in Col 1:12; in 2 Cor 3:6, RV, "made... sufficient" (KJV, "hath made... able"). See ABLE. (Vine's)

Webster:

3 a: to fit by training, skill, or ability for a special purpose b (1): to declare competent or adequate.

God has qualified us to partake of the inheritance of the saints through faith only.

Spiritual growth doesn’t take place without effort on our part. We are called God’s field in 1 Corinthians: 3:9.

1 Corinthians: 3:9

9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.

NKJV

If we are God’s field, then the soil must be worked that is, the weeds that grow in the field must be dealt with. Otherwise they will outgrow the plants that are planted in the field and reduce the growth and production of the plants that has been sown.

What constitutes the weeds in mankind? The weeds are the carnal nature that is in us. And the carnal nature is the appetites and desires of the senses called the flesh.

Matthew 13:7

7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. NKJV

August 22, 2016

Going to “church” services without being intimate with the one with whom the service is all about is like going to a fine dinner and not partaking of the food and drink provided. Your hunger and thirst is not satisfied; and your spiritual need is not satisfied.

Isaiah 55:1-2

55 "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; and you who have no money,

Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. NKJV

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and my burden is light." NKJV

August 27, 2016

Man has built skyscraper, made space crafts that can fly and take them into the outer space; however they have failed to bring to the earth the one thing that is needed most, peace and harmony between themselves.

The peace that brings men together only comes from the one who created man, God the king of the universe. When a person of nation turns away from God his source, he turns away from all that matters.

2 Timothy 1:10

10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

NKJV

The significance of Jesus abolishing death is this. From the time of Adam’s sin until Jesus came and gave his life and was raised from the dead, no act of man could stop the reign of spiritual death. As we know, this was not physical death he was speaking about because people still died. Spiritual death comes to and end at the moment a person is born again. Spiritual death is being cut off from God, the New Birth joins a person with God.
